Earlier in May, the Taylor Artist Guild opened the doors to 120ART, a new gallery and retail space dedicated to the promotion of contemporary and traditional art and craft, through vignette display and feature exhibitions. 120ART is a professionally designed space in the heart of Taylor's burgeoning downtown, featuring sixteen-foot walls, extensive quality gallery lighting, climate control and entertaining facilities for opening parties. For regional artists and artisans it will offer a space that is all about art and the passionate pursuit of creative expression, as well as a new opportunity to have work professionally showcased and promoted.

120ART will be open to the public Wednesday through Saturday each week, from 11am to 6pm. It will open for extended hours during special events and featured exhibitions and also during Third Thursday's, when downtown retail outlets remain open for late night shopping. The gallery's location in the Titsworth Building at 120 W. Second Street on Highway 79 is highly visible and accessible to pedestrian shoppers. The building itself has been the subject of recent renovation by CWMRY-Boyd II LLC, the team responsible for the exciting McCrory Timmerman Restoration project next door, led by local artist and architectural designer, Judy Blundell. Recently featured in the Austin American Statesman, the McCrory Timmerman Building will introduce 33,000 square feet of prime retail space, luxury loft apartments, creative space for artists and modern office facilities to the heart of Taylor.

120ART welcomes submissions from regional artists and craftspeople, whatever the discipline. For more information about hanging and exhibition opportunities and submission guidelines, or 120ART classes, please contact the gallery at onetwentyart@gmail.com. The Taylor Artist Guild is a dynamic, inclusive guild with a robust annual schedule of exhibitions, retreats and workshops. Members enjoy hanging privileges in the gallery, as well as reduced commission fees on sales. For further details, email taylorartistguild@gmail.com or visit the website at taylorartistguild.org.

Please join us at 120ART for our first visiting artist feature exhibition, "A Collection of Quilts" by Linda Nelson Johnson, on June 19 from 5-9pm.
